Drawing inspiration from the esteemed pearling legacy of the Arabian Gulf, Deïne pieces are meticulously crafted to honor this cherished tradition. Pearl diving and trade have long been integral to our region’s cultural fabric, serving as a livelihood and a symbol of our heritage.
At Deïne, our passion for authentic craftsmanship fuels a revival of this legacy, infusing each creation with elements of our seafaring history transformed into wearable luxury.
Every Deïne piece is imbued with meticulous design and lovingly handcrafted, embodying the true essence of artisanal skill intertwined with our heritage.
Pronounced “de-yeen,” our brand pays homage to the ancient net basket, a vital tool worn by pearl divers to gather oysters in pursuit of the precious marine jewel.
Founded by Fatima Al Yaquby in 2021, Deïne celebrates her lifelong fascination with handbags. Fatima’s journey began at the age of eight when she crafted her first handbag from stitched fabric petals. Over time, her passion for handbags blossomed alongside a deep appreciation for authenticity and craftsmanship.
Driven by a desire to create purposeful pieces, Fatima embarked on the path to establish her own handbag line, infusing each creation with a narrative deeply rooted in our cultural heritage.
Academic wise, Fatima brings a diverse background in fine arts, fashion design, and business marketing to her creative endeavors. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing, she merges her artistic flair with the quality of an entrepreneur.
Further enhancing her craft, Fatima pursued a handbag design and creation course at the University of the Arts in London in 2019, honing her skills and refining her design sensibilities.
In 2024, she furthered her expertise by obtaining a certificate in Leadership in Luxury from SDA Bocconi Milano, solidifying her commitment to excellence in the realm of luxury craftsmanship.
